The OEM crash bars on the R 1250 GS have a documented problem: the hard rubber pad on the factory bar can punch through the cylinder header in a crash. AltRider built these Reinforcement Bars specifically to fix that flaw.

The bar geometry is direct by design. Force from an impact travels in nearly a straight line to the frame — no sharp bends, no band clamps that fold under load. The bar mounts at the engine using a heat-treated, CNC-machined through bolt. Competing designs use plastic inserts. This one does not. That difference matters when the bike goes down hard.

The bars clamp to the OEM crash bars using full-wrap two-part industrial alloy clamps mounted to thick flanges. The grip is solid with no flex in the connection. The electro-polish finish is close to the factory bar color. It is an organic process, so an exact match cannot be guaranteed, but it is the closest option available.

Installation takes about 15 minutes. Everything you need is in the box.
