• OEM Flaw Fixed: BMW is aware that their OEM crash bars suffer from excessive flex, a vulnerability they attempted to manage by adding a rubber bumper. The AltRider Re-Bar replaces that temporary solution with the missing fourth structural strut, locking the system into a solid, unified perimeter. This upgrade completely eliminates the bar deflection that can force the crash bars into the cylinder head guards during an impact.
• Direct Force Transfer: The bar is designed to send impact force in a nearly straight line to the frame, with no unnecessary bends that could collapse under load. Others do not remove the rubber pad as a result their reinforcement bars loses the straight line to transfer the energy.
• Engine Bolt Mount: Mounts directly to the engine with an included high quality stainless steel through bolt — the only design on the market to use this method — for maximum strength and stability at the critical attachment point.
• Full-Wrap Clamps: Attaches to the OEM bars using full-wrap two-part high-strength stainless steel clamps versus cheap weak sheet metal straps.
• Precision Built: Laser cut, CNC bent, and hand TIG welded from 1 inch stainless steel tubing for consistent strength throughout.
• Fast Install: Mounts and removes in about 15 minutes using the included stainless steel hardware.
• Material: Stainless steel tubing, 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter
• Construction: Laser cut, CNC bent, hand TIG welded
• Mounting Flanges: 3/16 inch (4.7 mm) thick
• Clamps: Full-wrap two-part high-strength alloy industrial clamps
• Engine Mount Hardware: Stainless Steel through bolt (included)
• Hardware: Stainless steel (included)
• Weight: 3.25 lbs
• Box Dimensions: 12 × 6 × 2 in
BMW R 1300 GS (2024-2026), BMW R 1300 GS Adventure (2024-2026)
BMW's OEM crash bars have a documented problem: the hard rubber pad can punch through the cylinder header on impact. These reinforcement bars exist to fix that.
The design is straightforward. Force from an impact is directed in a nearly straight line to the frame — no unnecessary bends, no band clamps that fold under load. The bar mounts at the engine using a stainless steel through bolt, a method no other manufacturer uses at this attachment point, many use cheap plastic inserts. At the OEM bars, full-wrap two-part stainless steel clamps grip the OEM bars.
For riders who want full-perimeter coverage, these reinforcement bars are designed to work alongside the OEM Crash Bar System for the R 1300 GSA. Used together, they form a complete protection system.
